Promo Videos

Love Will Tear Us Apart

(Original promo video with live sound and double-tracked vocals, recorded 28-4-1980 or possibly 18-4-1980) (released on Substance)
The soundtrack to this appears on the House Of Dolls and Here Are The Young Men bootleg LPs

Love Will Tear Us Apart

(Often called the Australian Version) (released on HATYM)

Factory (UK) sent this promo video out to Factory (Australia) when the single was in the top 20 out there. However, it wasn't good enough for TV broadcast so they had to re-edit, stripping the sound off and making the visuals fit.
The soundtrack to this appears on the Here Are The Young Men bootleg LP

Love Will Tear Us Apart '95 version

Same footage as the above two videos with the '95 Permanent/Don Gehman mix soundtrack

Atmosphere

(B&W promo video directed by Anton Corbijn, 1988) (released on Substance)

Filmed in Spain and features a number of hooded dwarves wandering around.

Available on the following DVDs: Control, Director's Series Vol. 6 - Work of Director Anton Corbijn (2005), and the New Order Story DVD.

Transmission promo Factory 400 1991

Starts with some footage of an escalator(?), but it's really just the live version from Something Else (in black & white). The 'ending' is possibly a little bit longer, with Ian bending over at the end of the song.
