William Tilly married Sarah Marks before 1824

Their children:

1. William Tilly, born 26 NOV 1824 Bridge Field Baptist, Wandsworth, Surrey
He married Ellenor Moss (born abt 1826, Sutton at Hone, Kent) on 17 NOV 1849, Saint Mary Magdalen, Richmond, Surrey, England.
1851 census: not found
1861 census: living Tonsley Place Wandsworth, with wife Ellen (sic), a builder's foreman.
1871 census: living 15 North Street, Wandsworth, a master builder employing 27 men and 3 boys. Married, but wife not there, she was visiting 35 Rochester Square, St Pancras. Also at 15 North Street: their nieces Phoebe, Mary Ann and Elizabeth Webb.
1881 census: living 15 North Street, Wandsworth with nieces Mary Ann and Elizabeth Webb. Ellenor not present, she is at 12 York Terrace, Islington, a visitor.
William died 6th December 1886 at 15 North Street aged 62. He died of heart disease and cirrhosis.The death was registered by J Steel, of 9 Mill Place, Wandsworth, who was present at the death.
1891 census: Ellenor is now in Tunbridge Wells, Kent.
Ellenor died 25th October 1895 at 15 North Street, with her sister-in-law, Elizabeth present. She was 69 and died after a 36 hour coma caused by a brain haemorrhage. She had been suffering from haemoplegia for 6 years. In her will she left most of her estate (over £6000) to her niece Elizabeth Webb (Bessie)

He married Elizabeth Lomer (Loomer?)born about 1832, Clapham, on 14 NOV 1849 Holy Trinity, Clapham, Surrey, England
They lived at 42 High Street Wandsworth from 1871 until at least 1901

1861 census: living at 1 Providence Place, St Anne's Wandsworth, a shoemaker master, with Elizabeth and children Charlotte, Walter, Alfred, Elizabeth, .
1871 census at 42 High Street Wandsworth, a bootmaker living with wife Elizabeth and children Charlotte, Walter, Alfred, Elizabeth, Spencer, Ernest, Edgar, Herbert.
1881 census at 42 High Street Wandsworth, a bootmaker employing 4, living with wife Elizabeth and children Walter, Elizabeth, Spencer, Herbert, Frederick.

Joseph died between 1891 and 1901. He was left £100 in Ellenor Tilly's will of 1895 but may have died before her.
1901 census at 42 High Street, Wandsworth, Elizabeth, a widow, now 69, shown as a bootmaker and Charlotte as a bootmaker's shop assistant. They have a boarder, Edwin Stanford, aged 22.

1. Charlotte Amelia Tilly, born 1850 (aged 6 months on 1851 census), Wandsworth, Surrey, on 1881 census living at 466 Fulham Road, unmarried, with brothers Alfred and Edgar, but after Alfred gets married she is back living with parents at 42 High Street, a dressmaker on 1891 census
2. Walter J Tilly, born abt 1856, Wandsworth, Surrey, a scholar on the 1871 census; a boot maker's assistant on 1881 census
3.Alfred Charles Tilly, born abt 1858, Wandsworth, Surrey, a scholar on the 1871 census; on 1881 census living at 466 Fulham Road, a bootmaker, unmarried, with sister Charlotte and brother Edgar.
On 1891 census he is living at 466 Fulham Road, a boot maker, married to Emma M Tilly (Emma Matilda Curtis, of South Molton, Devon - see below) with a daughter, Ethel, aged 7.
On the 1901 census still at 466 Fulham Road, he is an employer - a boot and shoe shop keeper, Emma is a teacher at a board school and Ethel is aged 16, a pupil teacher at a board school. Their marriage ref: Jun 1883 Wandsworth 1d 868
4. Elizabeth Emma Tilly, born abt 1861 (aged 1 month on 1861 census), Wandsworth, Surrey, a confectioner's assistant on 1881 census; a mother's help, domestic on 1891 census

He would have married and had at least one son - Frederick - left money in Ellenor Tilly's will in 1895.
