14th November 1978: Odeon, Canterbury Supporting the Rezillos and the Undertones on their joint tour. A tour which was cut short when the Rezillos had a bust up after this gig (although the three bands played one more night at Brunel University on 15th November) Maddy remembers this gig: I have just found my UKC appointments diary from 1978 and have written "The Rezillos 8pm Odeon" on Tue 14 November, so I imagine they must have been top of the bill, although I don't remember it that way. Apart from the striking presence of Ian Curtis my other main memory of the evening is that Feargal Sharkey (of the Undertones) didn't take his coat off! I'm afraid I can't remember which songs Joy Division performed, it's mainly Ian's voice and his strange, mesmeric dancing that I recall. It was the first gig I'd been to at Uni and was very different to anything I'd experienced before.
